Milk Factory + Shirtseed - Limited Edition Tees

Milk Factory + Shirtseed - Limited Edition Tees

March 19, 2009

Milk Factory + Shirtseed combined talents to create these fun tees for your 'kids on the go'!

Milk Factory Designs is excited to announce the launch of two limited edition Quick Wick Toddler Tees featuring the popular vintage bikes designed by Amy Rogerson of Shirtseed, down to earth t-shirts.

Shirtseed t-shirts are traditionally printed on natural, bamboo/organic cotton, but Amy was looking for a local supply of ethically produced colourful t-shirts for her popular bike designs. I was looking for something new and exciting to do with the Quick Wick Activewear. Amy and I are entrepreneurs and, let's face it, you have to get creative these days to stay alive! It seems natural that this venture, which started out as a 'wouldn't it be fun?' kind of conversation, quickly turned into "why the hell not?!"

The result? When friends play together, they have FUN! Milk Factory's quick-dry tee shirts and Shirtseed's bike designs make for fun tees that have kids, and adults, saying "woo hoo! those are cool!"

The plan was to have Amy work her silk screening magic on the shirts herself, sadly, her fab water-based inks didn't stick well to the technical fabric. I did some research for kid-safe inks and found a local printer who uses inks that exceed the CPSIA standard for safe lead and phthalate levels. As, business owners but more importantly, moms, this is very important!

In these shirts, you'll find all the same great features you love about Milk Factory's Quick Wick activewear:

  • UPF 40 sun protection, naturally
  • lightweight, stretchy, quick dry fabric that makes play fun and travel a breeze
  • no-itch, flat-lock contrasting stitch that looks and feels great
  • everyday, year-round wear that can be passed on to siblings and friends

The Vintage Chopper in smoke blue on brown tees and the Vintage Trike in pink on brown tees are available now at www.milkfactory.com!

Love the shirt! As for where we bike, we mostly just stick to our neighbourhood. My daughter is still using a trike, so long distances aren't all that manageable yet. :)

our favorite place to go riding is down our back alley, over to Riley park community centre, around and around the park, (especially the big climbing ROCK) and then back home.

Last year we bought a bike trailer from MEC and loved the Seawall. With two little ones (now 3.5 and 1.5 yrs) the frequent (and fun) stops are important. Can't wait to get out there again!
