Ever wondered where you were 5 years ago? I know where I was...

Big News!!

It's official. Yesterday was my last day at work. Penny's last day is at the end of the month.

We've started our own company, called Milk Factory Designs, and things are just starting to get exciting! The business plan is done. The labels have been ordered. The prototypes have been washed and tested. The temporary website is up.

And we've had some very productive meetings with our financial services officer at the local VanCity Savings Credit Union.

Did I mention that we both quit our jobs??

Yup. Milk Factory Designs is FIVE YEARS OLD! Our official birthday is September 18, 2004, when Tomi and I launched to the public at a Vancouver baby fair. Wow. Sometimes it seems like yesterday that Tomi and I were strolling around Yaletown with our precious bundles, enjoying the bliss that was our maternity leave.

Much has changed since those early days. The kids that started it all, Oliver and Ella, are heading into Grade 1, with Theodore and Finn not too far behind. Tomi moved on to work with her husband and my husband joined me and is still my greatest supporter. I've undergone a huge web upgrade and a few new or improved products. And, earlier this year I opened my studio to the public and have been having so much fun meeting many of you (and your little ones) in person.

One thing that remains unchanged is the love that you all have for Milk Factory gear. It's been a wonderful experience to serve so many of you - near and far - from our launch and through the years, as your little ones have grown along side our own. And even once your kids have out grown Milk Factory, you still come back to buy gifts for friends and family. Tomi and I have made some amazing life-long friendships through this experience. That's the best reward we could ever receive and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patronage. I look forward to what the coming years will bring!
